Ummm... It's January, right? Why is it going to be 70 degrees today? Am I the only one that is beginning to think that the world is coming to an end? My ghetto heat is on... and its 70 degrees outside... I am dying in African Equatorial HEAT in here. I am sitting here in my drawz, cause if I put another item of clothing on, I will melt. Its not as sexy as it sounds. I am sticking to my leather desk chair... lol Anytime something crazy happens that appears to be a 'sign of the time', my mom blows up my phone and tries to get me to go to church with her... so I am due for a phone call at some point today I am sure... and this time, I might actually go... lol
I was really stressed until I heard someone on the radio say that it hasn't been this hot in January since the 1800's. Then it got me to thinking. We are all stressed about global warming and melting polar ice caps... but if it was this hot in the 1800's, wasn't that before global warming was an issue? So why was it so hot then? Could it be that the Earth is a living thing that goes through cycles just as we all do? And when I thought about that... I became less stressed about our pending doom.
Yes this weather is unusual, and we do need to be mindful of the holes in the ozone layer and global
warming. But this weather is not impossible. It has happened long before we began destroying our ecological system with our industrial waste. Maybe its just a gentle reminder from Mother Earth to take care of her and not a sign of our impending doom.
Even if that's not the case, and we are indeed headed to hell in a hand basket... my version is a lot nicer image than that of the Earth imploding or something, don't you think?
